Headlines From The Nation's Press

Each week we open the show with some of the most glaring and reoccurring stories chronicling the ugliness surrounding youth sports organized by adults; issues pertaining to our children's health and education. These headlines clap like thunder across the country signaling a warning to parents, coaches, administrators, lawmakers, and community stakeholders that widespread change is imperative.

My good friend, and frequent guest on the show, Professor Doug Abrams of the College of Law at the University of Missouri, will add you to his daily mailing list of these stories. Simply email Doug and ask him to add your name to the list.

The Main(e) Event

My guests will be Professor Ken Nye,and Professor Mark Kostin, both from the University of Southern Maine; and Andrea Cayer, a Health teacher for 30 years from Cape Elizabeth High School.

We'll be talking about why kids, and especially boys are bored with school; the gender gap between boys and girls; the shrinking curriculum and what that means to our children's health and overall ability to learn. Is American really falling behind the rest of the world?

The Coaches Corner

With Little League Baseball just around the corner, I'll be asking my guests what advice they would give to parents and coaches based upon every child's right to play and exercise daily.

Regis' Rant

This show is so packed, the "Rant" will be out of place.

The Parent Trap

What is it that has lulled parents to sleep regarding trends in public education and the lack of success in the classroom being experienced by growing number of children across the country....in spite of the efforts to make schools "accountable?" Why does it seem that "the hard THEY push, the worse it gets? You'll hear these three professional educators give their opinions.
