The Center for Kids FIRST
in Education is a resource for parents, teachers,
school administrators, and other adults who care about learning
and well-rounded children.
Forced to eliminate important programs
and activities by budget cuts and political forces, many schools
no longer offer “electives” and “extra-curricular”
activities. The crisis in our schools is serious and immediate
solutions must be found.
In a rapidly changing world of technology
and information, our children can only be successful if they
learn to think and become self-reliant, confident, and strong
individuals.
The latest scientific research in the
areas of neurology, psychology, and education underscore the
importance of a holistic and organic approach to child development,
learning, and healthy lifestyles. The Center for Kids
FIRST is a dynamic catalyst
in the field of education and learning.
We believe that electives, PE, and sports
are basic to the development of well-rounded and healthy children.
The research proves that sports and physical activity are
not only critical for good health, but they enhance academic
performance. Most of us already know this!
