The
Athletes’ Alliance is made up of present and former
professional athletes who are committed to the Vision and
Goals of Kids FIRST In
Sports, and who spearhead efforts to create Kids
FIRST In Sports Chapters in their local communities.
We’re happy to announce that Trevor
Hoffman (San Diego Padres reliever) has embraced Kids FIRST
In Sports and will co-host a Celebrity Golf Tournament in
San Diego with the San Diego County Sheriff’s Department
in 2004.
Trevor will also host a baseball clinic
in Qualcom Stadium with Jerry Stitt (Kids FIRST In Sports
co-founder) and several of the Padres at the beginning of
the season.
We will follow this model of partnering
with athletes, law enforcement, and local schools throughout
the country as a means of spreading the Kids FIRST In Sports
philosophy, programs, and tools.
Numerous other present and former
professional athletes are being invited to become involved
and sponsor Kids FIRST In Sports chapters in their home towns.
