The Center For Kids
FIRST in Sports provides
on-going professional development for coaches that will help
them meet the needs of all children under their care. We help
them develop as teachers and superior role models through
a comprehensive program that is sound, practical, and up-to-date.
Coaching Development Program
This program was designed for youth coaches at the recreational,
club, and interscholastic levels. It was developed to meet
the increasing demands and expectations placed upon youth
coaches in our society.
Recognizing that coaches are teachers,
and that 90% of coaching is teaching, the Kids FIRST
in Sports Coaching Program will help coaches reach
a much higher standard, become more effective teachers, and
enjoy the experience.
Using state-of-the-art technology, our
Coaching Manual is password accessible on-line, and free for
all who register. Access to our on-line resources allows us
to direct all of our workshop efforts to hands-on, practical
activities that teach skills, tools, and methodology.

“The problem lies in the fact
we don’t hold coaches to a high enough standard. They
really are teachers. No one would tolerate an unqualified
teacher in a classroom. Why is it that we don’t require
the same for our coaches?” Peter Ziegler, a 17
year-old high school student athlete.
