To keep kids physically active, healthy,
and playing sports for life. We will do this by providing
less-organized, loosely structured age-appropriate games for
kids and through the reform of organized youth sports.
We educate, inform and counsel young athletes and their parents;
participate in the ongoing development of coaches; and provide
support, resources, and leadership to schools, leagues, and
boards.
We examine the culture surrounding youth
sports, determine its effects, identify approaches, and outline
strategies that place the needs and wants of Kids FIRST.
Our
Strategy
We educate, inform and counsel young athletes
and their parents, participate in the on-going development
of coaches, provide support, resources, and leadership to

Our Vision
We envision:
A culture that fosters respect for children
and considers their needs and wants FIRST.
A culture where kids love to play and have FUN.
A culture that enables children to make new friends, trust
their coaches and teammates.
A culture that teaches children to honor and respect their
opponents and officials.
We envision:
A culture that develops the whole person
and teaches important life skills, and provides a sound moral
foundation through its rules, decisions, policies, and actions.
A culture that promotes the Quality of Life by encouraging
an active, healthy lifestyle and fitness for life.
A culture that promotes healthy family relationships and seeks
to preserve family time;
A culture that supports parents.
We
envision:
A culture where children are included
in all aspects of the game and youth organizations.
A culture that insists on Fair Play, equal access, equal opportunity,
and meaningful playing time.
A culture that encourages children to play numerous sports.
We
envision:
A culture that respects the traditions
of the game.
A culture that places mastery and development before winning.
A culture that does not cater to the "elite few."
A culture that rejects hypocrisy, cheating and politics hurtful
to children.
We envision:
A culture that values its volunteer coaches,
but expects them to continuously improve their skills and
abilities.
A culture where coaches know, understand, and accept the responsibility
they bear for children and families.
A culture where coaches accept their role in the development
of character, personality, self-esteem and skills.
We
envision:
A culture where all forms of abuse are
discouraged and not tolerated.
A culture that encourages the life-long participation in sports
as players, officials, volunteers, and leaders.
A culture where parents can take pride in their children's
accomplishments and cheer for all participants.
A culture where parents participate with respect for each
other, always mindful of their roles as supportive and encouraging
role models.
